Please join the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) to learn about History Associates’ Phase 1 findings in the company’s research into the University’s connection to slavery and racism.

The 1807 Commission of Slavery and Racism was formed in 2021 and tasked with evaluating research into the names of buildings at UMB and providing recommendations on appropriate reparative actions. 

UMB President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, and Chief Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion Officer and Vice President Diane Forbes Berthoud, PhD, MA, will join the History Associates representatives to present and discuss the findings.
