Center to Advance Chronic Pain Research

We are inviting Mark Hoon, PhD, as a speaker for our Center to Advance Chronic Pain Research (CACPR) seminar at noon March 7 in Room 150 of the School of Nursing.

Hoon, senior investigator of the Molecular Genetics Section at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research, is a prominent scientist in the sensory biology field including taste, itch, pain, and thermosensation.

He has several breakthrough discoveries in his early career stage, including cloning bitter taste receptors T2R and identifying an itch neurotransmitter NPPB.   

His recent research focus is neural circuits of pain, and he will talk about descending circuitry for pain modulation in this coming seminar. Please feel free to join the seminar.
