dental students handing out information at tables

UMSOD students, faculty, and staff:

Shrimp salad sandwich, anyone? Or chicken and waffles? Maybe a Korean bento box?

All this and more could be yours for the ordering when you join your classmates, friends, and colleagues for lunch on Monday, Dec. 9, as part of the University of Maryland School of Dentistry’s second annual Lexington Market Day!

Monday, Dec. 9

Noon-2 p.m.

Paca Street, North of Fayette Street

You’re invited to buy lunch at one of the many market food vendors and browse in the shops and stands. Once you’ve picked up your lunch, join your fellow UMSOD community members in the Baltimore Room, located on the market’s Paca Street level. To get there, enter from the Paca Street entrance and walk toward the back of the market on the Eutaw Street side without going down the stairs. You'll find the Baltimore Room on your right-hand side. There will be plenty of reserved seating.

Please remember that some vendors offer UMB students and employees a 10 percent discount when you present your One Card. This includes dine-in and carryout foods; dietary staples like produce, butchery items, and seafood; and several service merchants.

Now in its second year, the annual event celebrates the University of Maryland, Baltimore’s commitment to fostering community ties, supporting local businesses, and sharing health care information with neighborhood residents. As part of the event, UMSOD dental and dental hygiene students will be greeting community members, sharing information about UMSOD clinics, demonstrating good teeth-brushing techniques, and handing out oral health kits from noon-2 p.m.

Stop by the tables to say hello and show them your support!
