Robert Wood Johnson Foundation

University of Maryland School of Social Work associate professor Christabel Cheung, PhD, MSW, and her colleague, José Causadias, PhD, MA, at Arizona State University, have been awarded a $250,000 grant from the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation for their groundbreaking study: "Employing the Delphi Method to Develop Guideposts That Advance Editorial Equity and Accountability."

A growing body of research has documented systemic inequities in academic publishing, but there is no agreement on best practices that can guide editorial decision-making toward equity. The goal of their study is to generate consensus among a diverse panel of experts and develop actionable guideposts that promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive practices in scholarly publishing by leveraging the Delphi method.
