Haseeb Zubair, PhD, Awarded Nephrotic Syndrome KL2 Mentored Career Development Award
February 01, 2024The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Institute for Clinical and Translational Research (ICTR) is proud to announce Haseeb Zubair, PhD, from the University of Maryland School of Medicine, as the awardee of the Nephrotic Syndrome KL2 Mentored Career Development Award. For this special round, applicants from UMB pursuing research in nephrotic syndrome were invited to apply.
Zubair’s research interests include nephrotic syndrome, focal segmental glomerulosclerosis (FSGS), transplantation, and kidney disease recurrence. The ICTR is excited for Zubair to join the UMB KL2 awardees from previous years, both Clinical and Translational Science Award (CTSA) and internally funded, as well as the KL2 awardees at Johns Hopkins University, our CTSA partner. Congratulations to Dr. Zubair!
The UMB KL2 award is designed to develop the next generation of clinical investigators, guiding scholars toward independent clinical research careers. This program provides mentored career development to outstanding junior faculty who have recently completed professional training and are performing high-impact translational and/or clinical research. Scholars receive up to three years of support with access to multidisciplinary mentorship, formal coursework, and professional development opportunities.
The UMB ICTR CTSA KL2 Mentored Career Development Program is led by Director Christy Chang, PhD, and Associate Director Graziela Kalil, PharmD.
