On Oct. 1, the National Academy of Medicine will publish a new report titled "The State of the U.S. Biomedical and Health Research Enterprise: Strategies for Achieving a Healthier America." The authoring committee, chaired by former dean of the University of Maryland School of Medicine E. Albert Reece, MD, PhD, MBA, lays out strategies to ensure that the U.S. biomedical research enterprise can continue to lead globally and address our population’s health needs in the face of complex challenges.
