The American Association of Colleges of Nursing has shared the following opportunities:

  • The U.S. Health Resources and Services Administration held a webinar on May 8, to provide an overview of federal Nursing Funding Opportunities. This webinar is now available on-demand, and highlights a variety programs offered to support nurses, nursing students, and nursing schools. Opportunities addressed include loan repayment programs (Nurse Corps, Faculty, NHSC); scholarships (Nurse Corps, NHSC, Native Hawaiian Health); and programs providing support to organizations (Nursing Student Loan Program, Nurse Education and Practice Programs, Advanced Nursing Education Programs.)
  • The National Institute of Nursing Research (NINR) invites research proposals for the funding opportunity titled "Understanding the Intersection of Social Inequities to Optimize Health and Reduce Health Disparities" (RFA-NR-24-006). This initiative seeks to explore how social determinants of health affect health outcomes across various social statuses in populations facing health disparities in the U.S. Proposals should utilize an intersectionality framework to examine the hypothesized connections between social statuses and health outcomes. Details on eligibility and application procedures can be found in the full announcement. The application deadline is July 5.
  • Johnson & Johnson's nurse innovation hackathons provide a unique experience for nurses to flex their innovation muscles and receive the support and motivation needed to bring their ideas to life and improve human health. The application cycle for the 2024 NurseHack4Health Pitch-A-Thon is open. Nurses who apply can look forward to creating a systemic and sustainable change for a thriving workforce and healthier work environment, with the opportunity to receive up to $150,000 in grant funding to bring their ideas to life.
