B’more for Healthy Babies Upton/Druid Heights

B'more for Healthy Babies was honored at the Championing Mothers, Elevating Community: Maternal Health Awareness Day 2024, held in Annapolis, Md., hosted by CareFirst BlueCross BlueShield and the Maryland Department of Health.

The University of Maryland School of Social Work's B’more for Healthy Babies Upton/Druid Heights was honored to attend this national Maternal Health Awareness Day that 1) raises awareness about the need for improved access to quality health care for birthing people and their children; 2) highlights the great work happening in Baltimore City and Maryland to improve the health of birthing people and their children; and 3) galvanizes policymakers and community members to work toward accessible, comprehensive maternal health care for all. 

During this event B’more for Healthy Babies initiative new video was featured, showcasing the success of the work in Baltimore City and a vision on how we can collectively prevent maternal, fetal, and infant death. 

Stacey Stephens, director of B'more for Healthy Babies and the Early Learning Programming at the Center for Restorative Change, presented the Rev. Angela Burden with the B'more for Healthy Babies Community Hero award.
