Parking spaces

As summer is winding down, the Office of Parking and Transportation Services (PTS) would like to take this opportunity to remind UMB parkers of the following:

PLEASE ...

  • Enter slowly into the garage and watch for pedestrians.
  • Do not drive at a high rate of speed up to the gate as the system may not engage.
  • Do not drive directly up on the gate as it may not raise.
  • Do not tailgate directly behind another vehicle.

HELPFUL HINTS

For AVI Holders

  • Vehicles come in different shapes and sizes; the AVI tag may not pick up if you …
        1. Have something obstructing the tag to the reader
        2. Special or tinted glass
        3. Wave the tag in the air outside of the vehicle
  • Place the AVI tag either on the dashboard or rearview mirror (design facing outward) or find the location that works best for your vehicle.
  • The parking kiosk will indicate when your new AVI tag has been read and you can enter the facility.
        1. The screen will read “Please enter the Parking Facility”
        2. The green light will light up on the reader

For Monthly/ Payroll Card Permit Holders

There is a new mobile app that can be accessed with Bluetooth or a mobile phone. More information is available on the PTS website at umaryland.edu/parking/parking-at-umb/parking-app.

A FEW REMINDERS

  • Drive slowly in the garages as there are pedestrians walking to the elevator landings.
  • Speed limit is 10 mph.
  • Observe all signage within the garage; parking will be enforced.
  • Do not block drive lanes when parking.
  • Continue to return your old hangtags to the garage attendant.

If you have any access issues, please see the garage attendant for assistance or contact the parking cashier’s office at 410-706-5518 parkingcashier@umaryland.edu
