This lecture explores the intersection of cannabis science, social justice, and professional social work practice. Topics include the historical and racial injustices of cannabis prohibition, current legal frameworks, and the science supporting cannabis therapeutics for mental health and physical conditions. Participants will discuss ethics, harm reduction, and cultural competency to support clients in this emerging practice area. By attending, social workers will gain valuable insights and actionable knowledge to navigate this emerging area of practice effectively and ethically.
