State of EDI at UMB Convening of Schools

Please join University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, and Diane Forbes Berthoud, PhD, MA, chief equity, diversity, and inclusion officer and vice president, in collaboration with Office of the Provost, for the first Convening of Schools to discuss the state of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) at UMB.
The School of Graduate Studies and the Francis King Carey School of Law will give a summary of the state of EDI in their schools.
In fall 2023, the University officially launched UMB’s first Diversity Strategic Plan centered around the premise of REPS:
- Recruitment and Retention
- Experience
- Professional Development and Career Advancement
- Scholarship, Service, and Education
To ensure greater accountability and strengthen the impact and sustainability of the plan, each school will share a summary of the state of EDI in their area following the REPS structure and propose strategies for improvement.
