The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) Center for Behavioral Health and Well-Being Research (BHWell) is proud to be part of “An Afternoon of Hope” as we host one of the live, in-person audiences for this powerful national event across major U.S. cities on Sept. 10 — World Suicide Prevention Day.

This event from 2-5 p.m. ET will feature renowned experts from the suicide prevention field, including our own Jodi Jacobson Frey, PhD, LCSW-C, CEAP, professor and associate dean for research at UMSSW, faculty executive director of BHWell, and leading suicide researcher.  Frey will provide an overview about the state of suicide prevention in the workplace, research, and best practices and will share the national virtual stage with speakers who will share insights, actionable strategies, along with personal stories of survival and hope.

We hope that you will join us at UMSSW for a powerful event and transformative experience. We also have an online option and details for both will be shared soon.

Students, faculty, and staff, let your voice be heard!
