State of EDI at UMB Convening of Schools

Please join University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, and Diane Forbes Berthoud, PhD, MA, vice president and chief equity, diversity, and inclusion officer, in collaboration with the Office of the Provost, for the third Convening of Schools to discuss the State of EDI at UMB.
The School of Medicine will give a summary of the state of EDI in its school.
In the fall of 2023, the University officially launched the University’s first-ever Diversity Strategic Plan centered around the premise of REPS:
- Recruitment and Retention
- Experience
- Professional Development and Career Advancement
- Scholarship, Service, and Education
To ensure greater accountability and strengthen the impact and sustainability of the plan, each school will share a summary of the state of EDI in their area following the REPS structure and propose strategies for improvement.
