- Shiladitya DasSarma, PhD, a pioneering microbiologist at the Institute of Marine and Environmental Technology, University of Maryland School of Medicine
- Andrea Buchwald, PhD, an infectious disease epidemiologist from the University of Maryland School of Medicine Center for Vaccine Development and Global Health
- Christopher Beck, climate change deputy program manager from the Maryland Department of the Environment
