Special Olympics is the largest global public health organization dedicated to serving people with intellectual disabilities. The Special Olympics Healthy Athletes Program offers health screenings in nine areas, including Strong Minds — mental and emotional health. Special Olympics Maryland is recruiting social work students to volunteer as Healthy Athlete Volunteers at this year’s Summer Games event on Saturday, June 22!

Special Olympics Strong Minds is an interactive learning activity focused on developing adaptive coping skills. Competition provides a natural opportunity to develop active strategies for maintaining emotional wellness under stress, such as thinking positive thoughts, releasing stress, and connecting with others.
