With the release of Zoom’s new AI Companion tool, users at UMB will now have access to Meeting Summary and Smart Recording with AI Companion. These tools work like a personal assistant across the platform to help increase productivity and reduce post-meeting busy work.
Meeting Summary with AI Companion allows the host to generate an AI summary of a meeting and decide how, when, and with whom that summary will be shared. Meetings summaries are supported in more than 30 languages and are a great tool for attendees to review key points and topics discussed during a meeting.
Smart Recording with AI Companion supports users by providing recording highlights, summaries, smart chapters, and next steps for cloud-based recordings. It also gives users access to a “meeting coach,” which provides speakers metrics on things like talk-speed, speak-to-listen ratios, and use of filler words to help improve presentation and speaking skills.
To view and manage AI Companion settings, users will need to log in into their Zoom accounts through UMB’s web portal, umaryland.zoom.us, and select the AI Companion tab under settings. From there, users can select the features they would like to enable for their meetings.
