CALL FOR POSTERS

The University of Maryland School of Social Work (UMSSW) invites poster abstracts for our annual Social Justice Research Day: Growing Community-University Partnerships on Wednesday, March 25, featuring interdisciplinary work that advances equity, access, community partnership, and social justice–aligned innovation.

All UMB schools, local schools, and community partners are welcome to submit and attend.

Poster submissions should include a clear focus on social justice and community partnership and/or engagement. This year, the event expands its sponsorship to include the Barth Professorship in Children Services, alongside the Daniel Thursz Social Justice Lecture Series, and will highlight social justice in all aspects of research, including diverse forms of knowledge, methodologies, ownership, and dissemination.

Key Details:

  • While sponsored by UMSSW, we welcome submissions from all UMB schools. We invite participation from students and seasoned researchers alike.
  • We encourage poster submissions that relate to and expand upon themes of access, community engagement, and social justice.
  • The event will feature insightful presentations, interactive discussions, and a poster session.
  • Poster sessions are designed to facilitate extended discussions between presenters and attendees.

This is an excellent opportunity to showcase your work and contribute to the advancement of social justice in research. We hope you will consider submitting a poster for this important event.
