UMB's Center for Information Technology Services wants instructors, students, and educational technology staff to be aware that as of July 1, 2025, the video conferencing and virtual learning tool known as Class Collaborate (formerly Blackboard Collaborate) will no longer be licensed for UMB.

What does this mean?

Prior to July 1, 2025, all current and future virtual events (e.g., classes) must be moved to alternative platforms such as Microsoft Teams or Zoom. These tools continue to be supported and should be utilized for video conferencing in conjunction with Blackboard. Additionally, if Collaborate recordings exist that instructors would like to retain, please ensure such recordings are downloaded prior to July 1, 2025; otherwise, they will become permanently inaccessible/deleted.

For assistance, please consult with your school's educational technology team or email help@umaryland.edu.
