The EMBRACE Initiative will hold a comprehensive discussion and review at 10 a.m. March 3 on how to process financial transactions using the Automated Clearing House (ACH). ACH allows funds to be electronically deposited in financial institutions and payments made online.
EMBRACE has worked with the Maryland General Accounting Division to train UMB faculty and staff on supporting community partners applying for direct deposit. ACH/direct deposit provides a streamlined and secure method for processing electronic payments without having to send checks through the mail. This allows our community partners to receive payment much faster and in a more secure manner.
Monica Wheatley, program manager from the General Accounting Division, will provide training to UMB faculty and staff on how to help our partners apply for direct deposit and the process of getting it approved. EMBRACE staff will also be available to answer questions from UMB on how to best support partners in this process.
