Gift Drop-Off

The School of Social Work faculty and staff have once again demonstrated their commitment to community service through their annual holiday gift-giving tradition. For over two decades, members from the ground and fifth floors of the Law School Building have united to support families in need during the festive season.

This year, the beneficiary was a family from the Project Fresh Start program - a mother and her three teenage daughters who recently transitioned from living in their car to a new apartment. Recognizing the family's basic needs, our team rallied to provide essential household items and personal gifts.

The comprehensive wish list included a range of items from sneakers and bicycles to household essentials like towels, cookware, and lamps. Our staff enthusiastically participated by selecting items to purchase or by contributing financially towards grocery store gift cards.

Through our collective efforts, we were able to fulfill nearly every request on the family's list and provide a $400 gift card. The wrapped presents were then delivered to Project Fresh Start representatives for distribution to the family.

This annual initiative continues to be a highlight of our holiday season, embodying our school's values of social responsibility and community engagement. It serves as a poignant reminder of the impact we can make when we come together in the spirit of giving.
