Call for IRB Members
The UMB IRB is seeking new membership. Although the UMB IRB is looking for members of varying skills and expertise, MDs are strongly encouraged to apply. Prior IRB experience is not necessary. Full orientation and training will be provided.
If you or someone you know is interested in joining UMB’s IRB, please email HRPO@umaryland.edu with the subject “IRB Volunteer.”
Did You Do Your Required Training?
We would like to remind principal investigators (PIs) that they are required to complete Blackboard training, in addition to CITI and HIPPA training. If you are a new PI, you are required to complete the “Expired Protocol” training. If you are submitting a reliance agreement for review, you are required to complete the “Reliance Agreement” training. Please contact Tom Cole (thomascole@umaryland.edu) for access.
Just in Time (JIT) Protocols
To better serve our community, the HRPO/IRB requests that “JIT” be noted in the protocol title and in the “Lay Summary” section of the protocol. This should only be included for federally funded JIT proposals.
Tip for Protocol Submission
Please be sure to review your protocol for consistency and clarity. This will allow for a more efficient review of your protocol.
