Instructor and alumni, Lee Westgate, was interviewed by Mariah Harrison, host of the Albuquerque Accent, to talk about and reflect upon his career as a social worker and now Director of Community & Clinical Linkages at Presbyterian Healthcare Services based in New Mexico. In his interview, Westgate emphasized that "there's always something we can do" and that healthcare providers like social workers, community health and peer support workers offer so much more than one-off patient engagements - they are "points of light" among a network of helpers and healers endeavoring to care for community needs while creating opportunities for healing at every interaction.
