Office of Student Success, Leadership, and Engagement: How to Get Involved
September 24, 2025The Office of Student Success, Leadership, and Engagement (SSLE) prioritizes supporting all students and student organizations through interprofessional leadership and learning opportunities, assisting students experiencing food insecurity, connecting students to civic and community engagement experiences, and providing students with opportunities to build and sustain community.
The University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community can become involved with the work of SSLE in numerous ways:
UMBengaged: Stay connected and get involved through UMBengaged as you explore campus events, discover and manage student organizations, and find opportunities to engage and connect.

UMB Student Pantry: The UMB Student Pantry assists with facilitating students' access to nutritionally rich snacks and meals and is open to all UMB students. Each month, the pantry distributes 1,000-plus pounds of shelf-stable food and hygiene items.
Leadership Development: Join the President’s Student Leadership Institute or apply to the President's Symposium and White Paper Project.
Civic and Community Engagement: Find ways to volunteer in Baltimore through the volunteer opportunities page.
