March 3: Conway Chair Conversation: Leading Interdisciplinary Research Teams - Lessons Learned
February 20, 2026
The tendency is to say that science now can only be "team science" given the multiple sources of expertise needed to achieve study aims. How easy or complex is it to lead team science? What have we learned about teams conducting research together? Are there different lessons learned about each different discipline or diverse geographic locations? Please join us to hear the insights from three very skilled principal investigators -- Craig Futterman, MD; Joelle N. Simpson, MD, MPH; and Catriona Mowbray, PhD, BSN, RN -- about leading "team science" efforts.
The Children's National Conway Chair Conversations are designed to engage us in lively discussions and demonstrations about developing research ideas and solving the challenges that can confront taking that idea into a research study. This series of research discussions features a different topic each month. Attendees are able to actively shape the ideas and influence their development.
