#MDInThisTogether: 2020 Maryland Charity Campaign
November 30, 2020Just one week remains to participate in this year's Maryland Charity Campaign (MCC), an easy way to give to your favorite charity or charities through payroll deduction.
Still deciding if you would like to participate this year? Consider this:
$1 per pay period (the price of 1 soda) helps provide one direct support worker with one personal protective equipment kit including face mask, shield, and gloves.
$5 per pay period (the price of 1 cafe latte) provides 130 meals to Marylanders in need.
$10 per pay period (the price of 1 movie matinee) provides a shelter with canned dog and cat food for one month.
$20 per pay period (the price of 1 takeout meal) provides physical and psychological rehabilitation to 40 ill or injured veterans.
$50 per pay period (the price of 1 concert ticket) prevents at least two families from eviction and homelessness due to rental arrearages.
These are just a few examples of how gifts of any amount, over time, can make a big difference. UMB's goal this year, and every year, is to increase the number of UMB faculty and staff participating and making a difference in Baltimore and beyond through MCC. Nearly 1,000 charitable organizations are taking part in the 2020 campaign — organizations enriching people and communities across the state.
