April 14: Horenstein Lectureship Presents Dr. Sherita Golden

The Richard B. Horenstein, MD, Memorial Lectureship titled “Historical Contributors to Disparities in Diabetes Care and Outcomes — Biology, Race, or Racism?" featuring Sherita Golden, MD, MHS, will be held at noon April 14.
Golden is the vice president and chief diversity officer at Johns Hopkins University. Golden serves as the Hugh P. McCormick Family Professor of Endocrinology and Metabolism, and executive vice chair of the Department of Medicine at the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. She holds joint appointments in the Welch Center for Prevention, Epidemiology, and Clinical Research, in the Department of Epidemiology at the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health, and in the Armstrong Institute for Patient Safety and Quality. She is director of the Johns Hopkins Hospital Inpatient Glucose Management Program.
Learning Objectives:
1. To articulate two medical and scientific contributors to diabetes disparities.
2. To articulate two social conditions contributing to diabetes disparities.
3. To articulate interventions to reduce race/ethnic health and health care disparities in diabetes and achieve health equity.
