June 02, 2021The UMB Center for Interprofessional Education (CIPE) is accepting applications for interprofessional education (IPE) teams to attend the October 2021 Virtual Interprofessional Education Collaborative (IPEC) Institute on Oct. 12, 14, 19 and 21.
The October 2021 IPEC Institute is an advanced "201-level" program for those trying to sustain or strengthen their interprofessional education for collaborative practice (IPECP) programs while increasing faculty readiness and student preparation around inclusion, diversity, health equity and advocacy.
The institute will consist of:
- Asynchronous prerecorded modules, which will be viewed prior to the live sessions
- Synchronous live sessions Oct. 12, 14, 19 and 21.
Proposal Guidelines
Twice a year, CIPE will put out a call for proposals. The call will ask interested faculty to prepare a brief (no more than one page) proposal indicating their interest in participating in this faculty development opportunity.
The proposal should include a brief description of the proposed IPE project that the team will design and implement as a result of participating in the institute. The team selected to represent UMB will be asked to submit a proposal for seed grant funding from the center for up to $15,000 to support the IPE initiative in the coming years.
Makeup of Teams
The team members identified in the proposal must represent at least three health profession disciplines. One member of the team can be from another University System of Maryland institution if they are representing a discipline other than those offered at UMB. The team should range in size from three to five members. All team members must agree to attend the IPEC Institute.
Submit your team's application by the close of business Wednesday, July 14, 2021. Send to Reetta Gach (rgach@umaryland.edu) with IPEC Application in the subject line.
