October 11, 2021The Center for Interprofessional Education is now accepting applications for IPE Teams to attend the February 2022 Virtual IPEC Institute on Feb. 1, 3, 8, and 10.
The February 2022 IPEC Institute is an advanced "201-level" program for those trying to sustain or strengthen their interprofessional education for collaborative practice (IPECP) programs while increasing faculty readiness and student preparation around inclusion, diversity, health equity, and advocacy. Visit IPEC for full agenda (asynchronous and synchronous).
The institute will consist of:
- Asynchronous prerecorded modules, which will be viewed prior to the live sessions.
- Synchronous live sessions on Feb. 1, 3, 8, and 10.
Proposal Guidelines
Twice a year, the Center for Interprofessional Education will put out a call for proposal. The call will ask interested faculty to prepare a brief (no more than one page) proposal indicating their interest in participating in this faculty development opportunity.
The proposal should include a brief description of the proposed IPE project that the team will design and implement as a result of participating in the institute. The team selected to represent UMB will be asked to submit a proposal for seed grant funding to support the IPE initiative in the coming years.
Makeup of Teams
The team members identified in the proposal must represent at least three health profession disciplines. One member of the team can be from another University System of Maryland university if they are representing a discipline other than those offered at UMB. The team should range in size from three to five members. All team members must agree to attend the IPEC Institute.
Submit your team's application by close of business on Friday, Nov. 12, 2021. Send to Reetta Gach (rgach@umaryland.edu) with IPEC Application in the subject line. Full information and application can be accessed at https://www.umaryland.edu/ipe/funding-opportunities/ipec-institutes/.
