Dec. 14: Cardiac MR Evaluation of Myocarditis in Student-Athletes After COVID-19 Infection: A Multi-Institution Experience
November 23, 2021"Cardiac MR Evaluation of Myocarditis in Student-Athletes After COVID-19 Infection: A Multi-Institution Experience" is a University of Maryland, Baltimore Institute for Clinical Translational Research (ICTR) enrichment seminar. At the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, there was growing concern that competitive athletes may be at risk for sudden cardiac death during training and competition after exposure to COVID-19. Members of the University of Maryland, College Park and University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) are part of a multi-institution effort to evaluate the prevalence of myocarditis among student-athletes and determine the utility of different screening strategies, particularly the use of cardiac MRI.
Jean Jeudy, MD, professor and vice chair of imaging informatics, UMSOM, will be the speaker.
