For the last five years, the Community Collaborative on Intimate Partner Violence (IPV) has been hard at work to clarify, and address, the learning needs of UMB, the VA, and UMMC regarding intimate partner violence (IPV) experienced by our patients, students, and employees. We have been teaching, training, and doing research on this critical topic.

Based on our findings, teaching, and conversations, we developed — with the University of Michigan — an interprofessional Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) to help address this training gap in our own campus community and beyond. That course is now available onlineThe MOOC can be audited for free or taken for continuing education credits (for social workers or nurses) and a verified certificate of completion.

As we approach the end of National Domestic Violence Awareness Month we hope that this will help you respond effectively, and with interdisciplinary awareness, to prevent and stop IPV/domestic violence.

Students, faculty, and staff, let your voice be heard!
