The Robert E. Fischell Institute for Biomedical Devices was founded on the College Park campus with the original concept of providing a bridge between College Park and Baltimore campuses, catalyzing innovation.

During its first year, the Institute established the Fischell Foundry, consisting of staff and equipment needed to reduce to practice, innovative design concepts with an eye on translation to commercial success. Recent Foundry activities can be found at the A. James Clark School of Engineering's COVID-19 response site, where many coronavirus-related responses are depicted.

This fall, with help from MPowering the State, the Institute would like to expand the medtech ecosystem by engaging with faculty and clinical staff on both campuses.

Please join the Robert E. Fischell Institute for an hour-long virtual meeting on Tuesday, Sept. 22, noon - 1 p.m., during which they will explain their strategy for increased faculty engagement. An RSVP link is provided below and a preview document will be provided in advance of the meeting.
