Students Today, Leaders Tomorrow | GNSA logo

AACN’s Graduate Nursing Student Academy (GNSA) is building the next generation of nursing leaders and is recruiting students for two opportunities that allow graduate students to engage in leadership on a national level, build their networking skills, and prepare to advance the nursing profession.

Applicants must be members of GNSA; membership is FREE. The GNSA provides high-value programs, services, and resources to graduate nursing students enrolled in master's and doctoral programs at AACN member schools. The GNSA is committed to supporting graduate students preparing for careers as faculty members, researchers, advanced practice registered nurses, clinical nurse leaders, policy experts, and health care administrators, among other roles.

GNSA LEADERSHIP COUNCIL

The GNSA is seeking applications for the 2021 - 23 Leadership Council. This 10-member group provides strategic direction on GNSA programs, services, and resources. In this role, GNSA members have a direct opportunity to serve in a leadership capacity and represent their fellow master's and doctoral nursing students across the country. Applicants are asked to provide a brief statement on what they hope to accomplish on the Council as well as remark on how graduate-prepared nurses can help transform the future of health care. Application Deadline: Wednesday, June 30, 2021

GNSA LIAISON

The GNSA is seeking applicants for the GNSA Liaison role, which is open to any graduate student interested in representing their school on a national level. These volunteers have an opportunity to engage directly with AACN and members of the GNSA Leadership Council. Liaisons participate in a national conversation on challenges and successes at their school during the biannual Town Hall calls. Representing the interests of their fellow students, they bring forward recommendations directly to the Leadership Council. In addition, serving in this role allows Liaisons to further develop their networking and leadership skills. Liaisons are the first to know about new initiatives and opportunities.

Multiple students may volunteer to be GNSA Liaisons. We encourage students from different programs to sign up to vary GNSA representation at your school.
