World Research Project

MSW student Larkin Corrigan recently joined a research project directed by adjunct faculty member Dr. David Crumpton and MSW alum Julia Roche. The project is funded by Brazil's Ministries of Health and Education and deals with bringing best practices in medical education to Brazil's national health system. The role played by the Crumpton, Roche, and Corrigan team involves comparative analysis of the medical training approaches in Canada, Germany, Spain, and the United Kingdom to identify best practices to introduce in Brazil. Thus far the team has produced several reports to the Brazilian government and a forthcoming article comparing the national health care approaches of Brazil and the four nations considered in the comparative medical training study. Larkin and her new colleagues are currently studying the UK's approach to training doctors.
