International Day of Persons With Disabilities is Dec. 3, 2021.

This day has been promoted by the United Nations since 1992. The observance of the day aims to promote an understanding of disability issues and mobilize support for the dignity, rights, and well-being of persons with disabilities.

The theme for 2021 is Not All Disabilities are Visible. Some disabilities including mental health disorders, chronic pain and fatigue are invisible — but that does not make them any less devastating to someone’s quality of life. During these times of the pandemic, a person with disabilities is more vulnerable and in need of all our support.

At UMB, we strive to create an inclusive work environment that meets the needs of all our employees. We ask that everyone take part in recognizing this day and take the time to contribute in creating a more sustainable worldly environment for those with disabilities.
