What would you want someone to know about your work if you only had 30 seconds to talk about it?

Scientists learn how to communicate with other experts through lengthy grant applications, papers, and conference presentations. However, networking opportunities are usually brief (e.g. 30 seconds in an elevator) and often occur with non-content experts (e.g. sponsors).

In this session at noon June 23, we will use a communication exercise referred to as an “elevator speech” to teach and demonstrate how to provide an engaging and succinct summary of your work for a lay audience. As in-person activities start to reopen, this session is a perfect opportunity to develop new networking skills and gain confidence in talking about your important work.
