NCSBN announced the launch of four free, self-paced, online short courses, designed specifically for new, established, and returning nurses who are working on the front lines during the COVID-19 pandemic. The courses, three of which offer continuing education credit, include:

  • COVID-19: Epidemiology, Modes of Transmission and Protecting Yourself with PPE – an essential course for new nurses and nurses returning to practice during the COVID-19 pandemic, while established nurses will also find the information valuable
  • COVID-19: Nursing Care – disaster nursing experts and educators have sifted through the plethora of COVID-19 data to provide the most relevant information that will keep nurses, their patients, and the community safe
  • COVID-19: Basic Law and Ethics for Nurses during COVID-19 – provides a basic overview of federal and state law within context of public health emergencies, such as the COVID-19 pandemic
  • COVID-19: Credible Information, Hoaxes and the Media – provides tools for leveraging the trust the public places in nurses and other health care workers to relay credible health information to patients during a health crisis

Nurses and other health care workers are invited to self-enroll through the ICRS Connections Catalog.
