The Governance Council has approved the creation of a Technology Advisory Council (TAC). The Council will foster shared governance as it related to information and learning technology. It will advise the Assistant Dean for Technology Strategy and Operations, Office of Information and Learning Technology, and other senior administrators on the needs of faculty, staff, and students.

Nominations are open for faculty and staff representatives from the Baltimore and Universities at Shady Grove (USG) locations. Representatives will be elected through a combined faculty and staff election process. The inaugural nominations are staggered as follows:

To be elected for a two-year term:

  • One faculty member from USG
  • One staff member from Baltimore

To be elected for a three-year term:

  • One faculty member from Baltimore
  • One staff member from USG

Individuals should self-nominate by providing the following: name, title, location, and a brief (no more than 200 words) statement as to your interest in serving on the Technology Advisory Council. Please forward your nomination to Deborah Prout at prout@umaryland.edu by Friday, October 8.
