UMB invites student nominations to serve on the University of Maryland Board of Regents.

Each degree-granting institution in the University System of Maryland (USM) is invited to send forward the name of up to two candidates for the student regent positions. All candidates will be invited to interview with the USM Student Council at its Nov. 10 meeting at UMBC.

After that meeting, USMSC will convey the names of at least three top-ranked candidates to the chancellor. The chancellor will interview the top candidates in December or January. Subsequently, the chancellor will forward a list of nominees to the governor. The governor will then appoint student regents subject to the advice and consent of the State Senate.

The deadline to complete and return the application to Student Development and Leadership, Room 505 at the SMC Campus Center, is Monday, Oct. 28, 2019, by Noon.
