Return to Campus Plan

In a March 31 letter to the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community, President Bruce E. Jarrell, MD, FACS, released the UMB Return to Campus Framework, a comprehensive plan outlining guidance and safety measures for bringing students, faculty, and staff back to campus in limited densities by June 1, with a more robust in-person presence by fall 2021.

The plan details guiding principles and public health considerations that were considered in creating the framework as more people receive vaccinations against the coronavirus and restrictions originally put into place during the pandemic start to ease.

“I’m grateful to be part of such a responsible community of leaders who understand that each of us plays an important role in keeping ourselves and each other safe,” Jarrell’s letter states. “It is with joy that I write today. I know that the UMB community has done so much to get us to this point, and I cannot wait to see you all safely back on campus.”
