The Safe Space program at the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) trains UMB faculty, students, and staff in LGBTQ+ allyship, advocacy, and education. This workshop is offered by the Intercultural Center and challenges participants to reflect on the identities and lived experiences of gender and sexual minorities while challenging norms related to the gender binary and heteronormativity. Part I of the training is scheduled for Oct. 15 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Part II is scheduled for Oct. 19 from 11 a.m. to 12:15 p.m. Please register for both parts to receive your Safe Space certification.
