Phase I of our R3 Wiki Wisdom Forum, an online conversation about the remarkable resiliency of Maryland nurses, is now complete. We are reflecting on what we have learned from this rich conversation. Thank you!
Phase II is open until March 24 with new questions focused on ways we can prepare nursing students and new nurses to establish a resilience awareness and competence that is strong enough – embodied enough – to carry throughout their practice.
- Phase I helped us see the often small yet important resilience tools, resources, and practices that are most effective for practicing nurses.
- Phase II will identify the needs of nursing students and new nurses.
Understanding all phases of a nurse’s career, we will create a seamless resilience pipeline from education to practice because when resilience is high, so is retention, which keeps the promise of just, compassionate, and high-quality patient care possible, all while fortifying a health care system of ethical well-being.
