Nomination Deadline: April 5 

Shine a bright light on some of the outstanding talent within the UMSON faculty. Nominate a colleague for any of the following awards: 

Teaching Award (for one or more of these areas)

• Course development and pedagogy
• Faculty development 
• Mentorship of faculty
• Direct student projects
• Leadership in teaching improvement
• Student engagement in learning process

Scholarship Award

• Scholarship, research, or creative activities that enhance the health and well-being of diverse populations

Service Award

• Benefits the citizens of Maryland, the nation, or humanity in general
• Includes any activity other than teaching or scholarship as part of the faculty role
• Excludes consultations and own clinical practice outside of UMSON workload

 New Faculty Award

• Faculty who demonstrate exceptional contributions in any of the three missions: teaching, scholarship, and service
• Nominee must hold a faculty appointment at the School of Nursing for less than two years
• Nominee must be in their first regular faculty appointment

General criteria:

• Accomplishments within the last two academic years
• Faculty who have won an award within the past two years are not eligible for the same award
• Nominees must have had a faculty appointment at UMSON for at least two years (other than candidates for the New Faculty Award)

Application requirements for all awards:

• Name of nominee, nominator, and award category
• One page outline of accomplishments related to type of award
• Two letters of support by UMSON faculty only (can include the nominator)
• Nominee’s CV with the past two-year time period highlighted
