If not, you are in good company — 58 percent of American adults do not have a will, even though it’s probably needed if you are have significant other, are a parent, or own property. The Oct. 22 online University of Maryland Wills Week Conference provides a user-friendly pathway into estate planning. Held in conjunction with National Estate Planning Awareness Week, the conference features four presentations by professionals in estate planning, wills and probate, life insurance, and Medicare and Medicaid planning. The conference is free to all members of the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) community, and is jointly hosted by the planned giving offices at UMB and the University of Maryland, College Park.
