Who: Any adult University of Maryland patient can volunteer.

What: The UM Genetics BIObank is a collection of blood samples and health information that is used for research. Participation requires a one-time visit for a blood draw and questionnaire.

Why: Medical researchers need to use human samples to look for ways to prevent, diagnose, or treat health problems. The BIObank is vital resource used to support long-term research for disease treatment and prevention.
