Why I Joined the Food for Our Front Lines Effort: Jessica Bird
May 19, 2020“I was on the UMB Facebook page and was delighted to come across the opportunity to donate to the Food for Our Front Lines initiative! I think that in times like this, when things are turned completely upside-down from what we consider ‘normal,’ it is more important than ever to recognize both the front-line staff and the local food services in our area.
“These are two groups that are truly feeling the impact of how the COVID-19 situation has changed the way we are all working and living. I was happy to give some support to these local businesses, which in turn helped provide meals to our front-line employees who have lost the ability to just go grab a bite to eat.
“I think that no matter how small, any support that we as individuals can offer the local UMB community at this time only serves to help all of us in the long run. We all need to keep doing what we can so that those on the front lines know that they are appreciated and valued and so that our local businesses are able to survive through this period of time. I hope everyone remains healthy and safe until we are all able to return.”
