Tabitha Legambi

Assistant professor assumes role Aug. 1.


Tabitha Legambi, DNP '19, BSN '02, RN, CEN, CNE, assistant professor, has been appointed vice chair of the University of Maryland School of Nursing's (UMSON) Department of Organizational Systems and Adult Health (OSAH), effective Aug. 1, 2022.

Legambi is an experienced nurse educator and clinician who maintains a clinical practice in emergency room nursing. She joined UMSON in 2021 after previously serving as a faculty member at Baltimore County Community College. She has served as the course director for adult health nursing in the Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) Clinical Nurse Leader option.

Legambi earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from UMSON in 2002, her MSN in Nursing Education from Stevenson University in 2012, and her Doctor of Nursing Practice from UMSON in 2019. Her clinical and research interests focus on the assessment, prevention, and management of agitation and workplace violence in the emergency department.

Legambi succeeds Joan Davenport, PhD '00, RN, who has tirelessly served as vice chair for OSAH for many years as an expert educator, clinician, and leader demonstrating a tireless dedication to student and faculty success. Davenport continues in a full-time faculty role.
