Cpl. John Jones and police dog Lexi

Cpl. John “J.R.” Jones of the UMB Police Department got the booster to protect himself and his family and to fulfill his responsibility as a citizen to protect others.

The COVID-19 booster vaccine is the best way to protect against serious illness, particularly for those with underlying health conditions. Cpl. John “J.R.” Jones of the UMB Police Department (UMBPD) received the booster vaccine to protect himself, his family, and his friends.

“I received the COVID booster to protect myself, my wife, and grandson and to fulfill my responsibility as a citizen to protect others,” Jones said.

Getting a booster shot aligns with the UMBPD’s mission to promote a safe and secure campus environment for students, faculty, staff, and visitors.

As we still navigate the risks of variants such as Omicron, infectious disease experts say that getting a booster shot is the best way to prevent spread and serious illness.
