SIGN 2024

The event in January will include the newly instituted Gullapalli Young Investigator Awards in honor of late School of Medicine professor Rao Gullapalli.

Piotr Walczak, MD, PhD, and Miroslaw Janowski, MD, PhD, both from the Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine at University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM) and co-founders of the Society for Image Guided Neurointerventions (SIGN), invite you to the fourth meeting of SIGN to be held Jan. 5-7, 2024. Registration is open and a call for abstracts has been issued.

In honor of Rao Gullapalli, PhD, MBA, who passed away this past spring, SIGN organizers have instituted the Gullapalli Young Investigator Awards. These three awards are open to all young investigators who meet the specified criteria and submit abstracts.

Dr. Gullapalli was a great leader and mentor who made significant contributions to fields including radiology, image-guided interventions, and traumatic brain injury. Dr. Gullapalli served as vice chair of research in the UMSOM Department of Diagnostic Radiology and Nuclear Medicine and was avidly involved in organizing SIGN 2024 in Hyderabad, India. His untimely passing was deeply impactful and it is important to the organizers of SIGN to recognize his contributions to its mission.
