On Feb. 21, 2023, the University of Maryland, Baltimore (UMB) Academy of Lifelong Learning (ALL) will launch a Literacy Tutoring Program that will take place at the UMB Community Engagement Center. This 10-week program will serve Baltimore City students from grades K-6 who are behind in their grade-level reading skills.

We are seeking UMB students to serve as tutors in the program. Our tutors may be Federal Work Study-eligible or not, and all tutors will be compensated for their participation.

In fall 2022, we tutored 25 students in grades K-3 who achieved significant gains in their literacy skills during the program. Watch a video about our pilot program.
