UMB BBAM Participants

Four UMB staff members graduate from the program for administrative staff, with the next cohort kicking off in August.

The University of Maryland, Baltimore’s (UMB) 2023-2024 participants were Terria McClain, MBA, administrative specialist, Department of Family and Community Health, University of Maryland School of Nursing; LaRhonda Jackson, administrative coordinator, Department of Pediatrics, University of Maryland School of Medicine (UMSOM); Elizabeth Castiglia, HR administrative specialist, Dean’s Administration, University of Maryland School of Pharmacy; and Erica Johnson, program management specialist, Department of Neurology, UMSOM. The graduation was held at Notre Dame of Maryland University.

The program includes a cohort of individuals from eight higher education institutions in Maryland. Participants attend nine sessions, which includes a kickoff in August and graduation in April. The kickoff session brings participants together to learn what is expected to complete the program and to get to know each other. After the final session, participants are invited to attend a formal graduation where they receive a certificate of completion.

The 15th cohort will kick off in August 2024. The content sessions for 2024-2025 will include career planning, networking, self-care, DEI, productivity, and completion of the Clifton StrengthsFinder Assessment. In addition to UMB, the University of Baltimore; University of Maryland, Baltimore County; Goucher College; Towson University; McDaniel College; Loyola University Maryland; and Notre Dame of Maryland University are participating in 2024-2025.

One advantage of the program is networking with staff from so many different institutions. The program is designed for administrative staff, and each institution has five spaces for participants. If you’d like to get more information, please email hrtraining@umaryland.edu.
